Jocelyn Birklid - 2nd Runner-Up
1.If you could make one rule that everyone in the world had to follow, what would it be?
I love good old mac and cheese! Ever since I was little, mac and cheese has been my favorite thing to eat. I enjoy it most for lunch on days when I am not at school.
2.If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
My idea of a perfect date wouldn’t typically be with any boy, but rather a girls’ date with my best friend. No matter what we do, she and I always have a blast together! Some things we enjoy doing are going to the lake, swimming at the pool, sleepovers, going out to eat, shopping, and going to sporting events. I can always count on having an amazing time with her.
3.When do you feel a child or teen becomes an adult?
During the summer, my weekends include a relaxing stay at our lake cabin in Minnesota, usually with family and friends. My family and I like to tube, swim, paddle board, boat, fish, play yard games, and roast marshmallows in the bonfire. Being outdoors is my favorite way of spending the weekend.
4.What do you feel you have learned in life that will be the most useful?
Living in what I like to call ‘the middle of nowhere,’ there aren’t many opportunities to really ‘go shopping.’ (Especially when the nearest Target is over 75 miles away!) The last time I truly went shopping was last summer when my mom and I went to the Albertville Premium Outlets in Albertville, MN, and the Shoppes at Arbor Lake in Maple Grove, MN. We had so much fun together!
5.What do you feel is the hardest job in the world and why?
To some people makeup is important, and to others it's not. That’s ok! I believe that natural beauty is something we all possess, and that makeup isn’t always necessary- even though it can be fun! Using makeup can be a way for people to express themselves in their own unique ways. It can inspire them to be creative and help with self-confidence.
